The Shop
Please support our work by buying from the Meketa Shop managed by our sister British charity Meketa which can ship to the USA. Please visit the UK Meketa Site to place orders of tallitot, kippot, tallit bags and other products made by the Jewish community in Gondar. Please consider making bulk orders for a wedding or bar/bat mitzvah and celebrate your simcha while supporting an important cause. Here are examples of some of the products sold (availability of certain colors will vary).
Tallitot
Each Tallit is woven from cotton by weavers in the Jewish Community on a traditional foot loom provided by the Meketa Livelihood Project. The pictures are examples of designs and colours. The larger tallitot come with the traditional pattern of single colour stripes, or in multi colours, including a rainbow pattern. The smaller tallitot can be requested in a larger size, and vice versa. It is possible to order a custom made tallit with colours of your choice. Not all designs are immediately available and re-stocking times vary. Therefore please allow time when ordering a custom made tallit.

Kippot
Our kippot are made by Jewish women in the Gondar community. They crochet the kippot from their homes. The work provides them with a really valuable income. Money from the sale of the kippot is also put aside to support the community as a whole in the projects which you can read about on the website. A variety of designs are kept in stock and may vary from the designs in the photos. Custom colours and patterns are available on request with advanced notice. Kippot can be personalised on larger orders for your special Simcha. Discounts are available on bulk orders.
